The Community of Communes of the Pyrénées Audoises
The Village of Marsa is one of the 62 municipalities that are today part of the Community of Communes of the Pyrénées Audoises. Previously Marsa was part of the Community of Communes of the country of AXAT (19 communes)
The NOTRe law of 7 August 2015, aims to strengthen intercommunalities. Intercommunalities will grow from 5,000 to 15,000 inhabitants and will be organized around ponds of life.
In addition, the compulsory transfer of communal competences for water and sanitation to municipalities of communes and municipalities of agglomeration is postponed until 1 January 2020.
The Community of communes of the Pyrénées Audoises is therefore the result of the merger of 4 cantons and 5 communities and was created on January 1, 2014:
For the former canton of Axat: Community of Communes of the Canton of Axat
For the former canton of Belcaire: Community of Communes of the Pays de Sault
For the former canton of Chalabre: Community of Communes of Chalabrais
For the former canton of Quillan: Community of Communes Aude In Pyrenees SIVOM
of the Haute Vallée de l'Aude
The objective of such a "recentralisation" is to pool the human and material resources in order to achieve substantial savings by reducing the expenses of these local authorities .....
This objective has been translated into local taxes (Property and Housing Tax) by an increase of 30% ...... in 2017....
